Classes in many aspects on how to start operate a business are offered at community colleges and other institutions throughout the Greater Hickory Metro, consisting of Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba Counties.

 

Educational Institutions Offering Business Curriculum in the Greater Hickory Metro:

 

The US Small Business Administration Online Courses
The Small Business Administration offers free online courses in the areas of finance, business creation, business planning and marketing, among others.

 

Catawba Valley Community College Small Business Center (Taylorsville Branch)
Offers cost-free business seminars, business counseling and business referral services. Also offers business workshops, certificate programs, entrepreneurship classes and online courses (contact Alexander Center for Education for pricing).

 

Western Piedmont Community College Small Business Center
Whether you are beginning a new business venture, expanding your existing business, or finding help with a business plan, the Small Business Center (SBC) can guide you in the right direction. The center is designed to help businesses succeed, through additional training, one-on-one counseling, or providing clients with contacts and information.

 

Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute Small Business Center
Offers cost-free business seminars, business counseling and business referral services. Also offers business workshops, certificate programs, entrepreneurship classes and online courses (contact Center for pricing).

 

Catawba Valley Community College Small Business Center
Offers cost-free business seminars, business counseling and business referral services. Also offers business workshops, certificate programs, entrepreneurship classes and online courses (contact Center for pricing).

 

Charles M. Snipes School of Business at Lenoir-Rhyne University
The Snipes School of Business offers courses leading to several bachelor’s degrees in business, including accounting, finance, marketing, and management. The School also awards a master’s degree in Business Administration.

 

Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC)
The SBTDC helps small business owners (and those interested in starting a business) meet the challenges of today’s business environment, manage that ever-changing world, and plan for the future of their business. We do this by providing management counseling and educational services to small and mid-sized businesses. Most of our services are free of charge, and all SBTDC services are confidential.
