The Greater Hickory Metropolitan Planning Organization has published a Draft Metropolitan Transporta

The Greater Hickory Metropolitan Planning Organization has published a Draft Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP). The proposed MTIP is for the years 2018-2027 and lists the programming for projects in several areas: highways, bridges, public transportation, aviation, bicycle, pedestrian, transportation enhancements, etc.


The public comment period will be open from August 24, 2017 through September 25, 2017. A public hearing will be held on the Draft MTIP on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm.


The hearing will be held at the Western Piedmont Council of Governments offices; 1880 2nd Avenue, NW, Hickory, NC 28601


A copy of the proposed MTIP for Alexander, Burke, Caldwell and Catawba Counties is available at the same address.


Persons with disabilities will be accommodated. Special provisions will be made if notified 48 hours prior to the public hearing.
