The GIS Technician performs technical and analytical geographic information system work for WPCOG and on a contracted basis, for member governments. Work includes the collection of data and data analysis both within member organization’s boundaries as well as region-wide; collects, builds, and performs analytical work on a variety of geographic data including but not limited to zoning and planning, transportation, environment, and various local government infrastructures such as water, sewer, electric systems and others within the context of contracted work for an individual COG member, grant or the COG region; provides direct GIS technical assistance to the local government members as required. Work is performed in both an inside environment and in field conditions environments.
SALARY: The hiring rate for this position is $47,047. New hires are eligible for up to a 5% increase with the successful completion of probationary period. Â
