The Housing Inspector performs work inspecting rental property for minimum standards within the Section 8 Housing Division for the WPCOG Regional Housing Department. The Housing Inspector will receive lists of properties within the housing program and schedule initial and periodic follow-up inspections of these rental properties for compliance with federal minimum standards; inspects each property for hazards, safety, decency within the established meanings, sanitary and which include basic house design functions of electric and plumbing systems and structure; determines deficiencies mainly following inspection guideline manuals; issues notices of deficiencies on results of inspections if any and re-inspects units within a certain time; makes contacts with owners and tenants of inspection and schedules within work calendar; creates and maintains a variety of inspection records and transfers closed records to other staff for merger with appropriate files.
